The thrills and excitement leading up to Halloween can lead us to forget about the social anxieties of the night. What are other people dressing up as? How hard are people going? Is my costume enough?
That's why, in my opinion, it always helps to arrive with somebody else. Whether you're romantic partners or best buds, a couples costume is a safe and doubly impressive choice when arriving at a Halloween party.
So to help you and your partner this Halloween, we compiled some couples costumes to help you get some ideas flowing.
1. Darkside Ray and Kylo Ren from Star Wars

The latest trailer hinted at a Dark Side Rey, so pairing that look with a Kylo Ren costume should make for a pretty provocative coupling.
2. Jules and Rue from the Halloween episode of Euphoria
This costume should be fairly easy to pull off. Jules dresses in a Roman-esque white toga dress paired with white wings, and Rue does her hair up in a tuxedo. Euphoria practically handed you this costume!
3. Undead Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow from Game of Thrones
Hopefully this isn't a spoiler, but a Jon Snow and undead Daenerys costume would kill. If you haven't dressed up as a Game of Thrones character in the last eight years, then you might have a long shopping list to cover the bases here. But a zombie Targaryen is in full order to commemorate the series end.
4. Tom Wambsgans and Shiv Roy from Succession
Who said Halloween has to be about spending a lot of money to look good? These two have recognizable style, but it shouldn't be hard to find the pieces in your own closet or at Goodwill. A little makeup and you're good to go with this sassy, comfy costume.
5. Steve and Robin from Stranger Things
This is the perfect costume for a couple of friends because, as we all need to remember, Robin is gay.
6. Bojack and Princess Carolyn from Bojack Horseman
In honor of the show's upcoming final season, why not amp up your basic cat costume this Halloween? Going as Bojack and Princess Carolyn is uncomplicated but the results are pretty impressive, and you probably already have most of the pieces.

These two looks were pulled out for ComicCon but would make for a great Halloween couple. The pieces are pretty basic as long as you have a fine attention to detail. Don't forget Bertie's statement white ankle boots!

8. Offred and Serena Joy from The Handmaid's Tale
This is a perfect costume for anyone who wants to combine sexy and scary. Any combination of characters from the show will surely create a truly uncomfortable Halloween party atmosphere, but you'll be the one wielding all the power when you reveal some sweet ankle skin.
9. Tobias Fünke and Gob Bluth from Arrested Development
For Gob, a white button-down and some accessories for your nightly illusions. For Tobias, a pair of denim shorts for that never nude look and some body-safe paint, or else you'll be stuck in the Blue Man Group for days!
10. College Admissions Scandal and college kid

This is a chance for your local introvert to be the highlight of the party. The perfect accomplice to this outrageous Yandy costume is a college student who is dressed up totally normal.
11. Bob Ross and his canvas from The Joy of Painting
This costume is so cute, but may require a little ingenuity. If you can't find a morphsuit with a happy little tree on it already, you can always buy a blank one and follow along to a real episode of The Joy of Painting to recreate one of Bob's famous landscapes! The essentials are a brown afro, blue jeans, a paint palette, and don't forget titanium white.

Let's be honest, it's not all that hard to dress up as Sean Evans. Some jeans and a bald cap will probably do you just fine as long as you carry around Da Bomb and Mad Dog 357. The kicker is going to be getting a giant chicken costume to pair along with it.
13. Sexy Colonel Sanders and KFC Chicken from I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator
Did you forget? Because we didn't forget. KFC's dating sim was finally released in late September, so hopefully everybody will know what this look is from a month later. Combine this look with the above chicken costume? That's gonna be a winner.
14. Censored Sims from the Sims franchise
I have only heard of this costume through Halloween legends, but quite frankly it's a genius and simple costume. You could also probably make it overnight if you forget what day Halloween is.
15. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren
Convincing wigs are going to be the tallest order to pull off Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Some chunky glasses will do you right if you're feeling the Bern, and a vibrant, pastel pantsuit to pull off a decisive Warren.

You can find most of these pieces on sale at Forever 21 before your local branch closes. Alternatively, if you're hitting up a party on your own, it's not a bad idea to go as Shaggy with a Scooby toy.
18. Skai Jackson and Lil Nax X from Panini music video
OK, so this idea is a bit extravagant. But if you're a cosplay veteran and are willing to do something new and unique, this costume will certainly have people talking. For extra help, Lil Nas X tweeted his inspiration board for the video in early September, showcasing what media he pulled from. If you're going for Skai Jackson's look, you can probably pull it off fairly well with an oversized white jacket, white jeans, and a big white backpack (you can also attach one of those toy paratroopers to mimic her parachute in the video!)
19. Goose and farmer from Untitled Goose Game
Untitled Goose Game was instant meme material and I can't imagine anybody who would be upset to see it referenced at their local Halloween party. Dressing up as the goose is going to require some creativity, but there are some feathered skirts and wings on Amazon that will do you well. Pair it with a red ribbon around your neck (for anybody who has beaten the game) and you're sure to get some laughs. Dressing up as the farmer should be easier – it will require a pair of overalls and a hat. Pair with a rake if you live for referential accent pieces!
20. Isabelle and Tom Nook from Animal Crossing
Sometimes Halloween makes us sacrifice between funny and attractive. However, cosplayers @major_vakarian and @lady.lunacy found a way to make these iconic Nintendo characters not just affordable and easy, but good looking as well.
21. Frog and Toad from Frog and Toad
Pair this bad boy with some earth-tone corduroys and a jacket and you've got yourself an insanely precious children's book reference. Dressing up as Frog and Toad with your best friend from the iconic book series Frog and Toad would be too cute to ignore.
22. Yukio and Negasonic from Deadpool 2
Who didn't love this couple from Deadpool 2? One good wig and a couple of black turtlenecks is a great start to this adorable couples costume.
