Hi! If you’re single, this post is dedicated to you.

I have several posts that catered towards romantic dinner for two and romantic desserts for two, but I know not everyone is in a relationship.

I want you to know I didn’t forget about you.

You’re reading this post right now while you grumble about Valentine’s Day. Being alone and independent is hard enough, but February is a constant reminder of what you don’t have.

You’re at your desk working hard, minding your own business when your coworker puts a giant vase of roses on her desk from her boyfriend.

You’re stopping at the store to pick up cat food and no matter where you look, every end cap is red, pink, and white with hearts everywhere.

You’re walking around downtown and notice all of the couples eating together, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.

I’ve learned over the years how to have a better attitude about being single. The number one lesson is put yourself first. Treat yourself. Be selfish.

My idea of treating myself is with my weakness – dessert. Actually, snacks are my weakness but dessert is a close second.

That’s why I put together this collection of Single Serve Desserts. Desserts for one you can make for yourself without having to share.

Some are quick easy desserts for one such as my microwave chocolate chip cookie. Others need a little more time to bake in the oven such as my sugar cookie for one.

And if you are in a relationship, these recipes for one can still be for you! I’m sure you have a night where you’re by yourself and craving something sweet. Or you can do the opposite and double the recipes to share.

What size ramekin do I need for a single serving dessert?

Most of my one serving desserts like my microwave peanut butter cookie are often served in a ramekin.

Then I have recipes like my chocolate peanut butter mug cake which uses a mug.

All of my ramekin dessert recipes have been tested in a 6-ounce ramekin, which you can buy online at Amazon (affiliate link) or find at a thrift store.

However, I understand not everyone owns ramekins, so you can also use a 12 ounce standard mug (affiliate link).

If you use a different size, please note it’ll affect the cook time. A wider mug will need less time. A deeper mug will require more time.

That’s why I like my 6 ounce ramekin because it’s pretty standard.

Don’t know what size mug you have? Fill it to the top with water then transfer the water to a measuring cup. That will tell you how many ounces your mug will hold.

What To Serve With Single Serve Desserts

Although these desserts for one can be served as is, top them with some small batch whipped cream, small batch chocolate whipped cream, or small batch peanut butter whipped cream.

You can also garnish with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
